Jelena Fužinato shares her practice and research through lectures and workshops, working with institutions, universities, and groups interested in questions of participation, power, and artistic process. Her sessions are grounded in the same thinking that drives her studio work — exploratory, process-oriented, and attentive to the specific context of the people she works with. Inquiries are welcome.
Collaboration & Availability
Jelena is available to work with institutions, universities, cultural organizations, and community groups across a range of formats and contexts. Across all of her work, she brings a care-driven and individually attentive approach, shaped by years of working closely with people in unequal positions and a sustained critical engagement with questions of power, exclusion, and belonging.
Academic Teaching & Supervision
With a practice rooted in painting, drawing, and experimental material processes, Jelena brings both technical depth and conceptual rigour to academic teaching. She supervises individual artistic development, guides process-oriented research, and contributes to the critical and theoretical frameworks that shape contemporary art education. She is experienced in working within university structures, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting students in finding and strengthening independent artistic positions.
Lecture Performances
Her lecture performances move between personal narrative, archival research, and critical analysis, addressing institutional negotiation, power structures, and the politics of belonging. Theoretical frameworks are woven together with material drawn directly from her artistic practice and ongoing research, making each performance both intellectually rigorous and deeply situated.Participatory Workshops
With extensive experience as a facilitator and mediator, Jelena designs and leads workshops for diverse groups and educational settings. Drawing is used as a core method — process-oriented, hands-on, and always attentive to the specific context and needs of the people she works with. She has particular experience working with sensitive and vulnerable groups, including young women and girls in women's houses, and has led numerous projects in refugee camps and community settings.
Writing
Jelena's writing works at the intersection of the personal and the structural — examining how institutions are built, how infrastructures of care operate or fail, and how individual experience is shaped by and against these larger frameworks. She is available for commissions, publications, and catalogue contributions.
