Supervisual

2021 | Installation, drawing 100x70cm, ladder, cables, light bulb, plastic clips, metal holders, battery charger

Supervisual is a mixed media installation consisting of a spinning mechanism on the ceiling and a drawing mounted between a ladder and a glass surface on the floor. The work creates new narration forms between light and dark, shadows and focal points, the marginal and the centre. A pencil drawing is framed in the descending perpendicularity of a staircase. A glass covering the drawing is in dialogue with a descending wired light bulb socket. An immediate interplay of reflections, angels, the ascension of light and the descension of surfaces is created. It is an invitation to switch in the interplay of the particular and the excluded elements of the drawing. Precarity is insinuated in new emerging forms, and it invites the viewer to constantly search and get lost, thus re-questioning the shadow and the visible in their reciprocal contamination for both the work and the (human) eye.
